Jamshedpur 12th November, 2017: XLRI Jamshedpur hosted the grand finale of Emerging Entrepreneurship Program on 12th November, Sunday. The program witnessed an exemplary participation from the ten schools in Jamshedpur with a footfall of more than 180 students.
The finance faculty of XLRI, Professor Uday Damodran, conducted an interactive session with the students and talked about essential fundamentals of entrepreneurship. The students were quite fascinated by the workshop “Multitasking is a lie” conducted by professor Manish Singhal, who emphasized the advantages of focussing upon one thing at a time and mindfulness.
The session was made fun as well as educative through simulation exercise, “Marshmallow challenge”. Students had a great time while working with their team members to create a tall structure made out of spaghetti and marshmallows. According to many students, this exercise helped them learn about teamwork and collaboration, while at the same time building close bond with their team mates.
Start-up quiz was the most highlighted event of the day for which 40 students were selected for the final round. The quiz tested the students on their entrepreneurship related knowledge and tickle their gray matter. DBMS English School emerged as a winner after giving tough competition to Loyola school (1st runner-up) and DAV public school (2nd runner-up). The winners and participants were felicitated by Mr. Vishwa Vallabh, coordinator of Entrepreneurship Development Centre, XLRI. The top 3 teams will be awarded with trophies and cash prizes worth Rs. 5000, 3000 and 2000 respectively. The students from winning team, Aman, Aryan Kumar, Raghav Singodia and Yash Sakhuja, were extremely delighted and thanked the Entrepreneurship Cell of XLRI for the wonderful platform provided to them.
Sushank Singla, treasurer of E-Cell, XLRI quoted that “We are delighted to host students across the schools in Jamshedpur to our campus. It gives us immense pride and pleasure to contribute towards the development of these children. I thank the principals, teachers and parents of each and every student for their contribution in making this program a huge success”.
